Expatriates - What Kind of International Health Insurance do You Have? I've been living abroad for 20 years now, and have depended on local national insurance. But now I'm looking for more comprehensive health and life insurance (got married, finally, a couple of years ago). I do a lot of travelling, and I soon I will relocate to another country. One medical Insurance plan I'm considering is called "International Health Insurance danmark" (IHI), part of an organization called "British United Provident Association" (BUPA). Has anyone heard of this? Or can you recommend any other companies? Thanks a million!
Health Insurance for international students in montreal? I study at McGill as International student. Wondering if I have other options of health insurance than the standard blue cross for me and my family. Also, what is Canadian or provincial health insurance? Can I get that for myself, wife and child?
Health Insurance for International Students in the US? Hi, I'm hoping to go to Connecticut to study for a couple of years in January 09. I'm trying to work out what my outgoings will be and am wondering if anyone knows how much health insurance will be likely to cost me as an international student? Does anyone know if students can get cheaper insurance due to lack of income and also I wondered if anyone could recommend an insurer who has a good reputation but not too expensive? Many thanks Alison
International Health Insurance? Can anyone recommend health insurance for Americans working outside the US? Some of the plans I am familiar with include AETNA Global, Clements International, and CIGNA International. Has anyone had positive experience with any of these plans, or know of other similar plans?
Health Insurance for International Individuals? Are there any health insurance companies for international individuals (Non-U.S./Canada citizens) leaving their home that cover pre-existing conditions? Note: a waiting period can be established but it should not exceed 12 months.
International health insurance for a UK resident in UK? I have been working overseas for the last years; now my family and me are coming back to the UK and want to take a family private health insurance; I did call BUPA and they’ve said to me that they won’t be able to provide me with a UK insurance, because we didn’t have a GP in UK and we have to get an international health insurance first for six months, and only after that we can switch to a UK one; the problem is, that is 4 times more expensive. Doesn’t make sense to me, living in UK and have a very expensive international policy; then again can we just can get registered with a GP and then adopt a UK insurance? Overseas our company has very well looked after us, and we had International Insurance and western level clinics. Did I just bump into a sales man, willing just to sell ?
International health insurance question. ???? I'm planning on moving to Finland this March-October and have been looking online for health insurance while I am away from the US. Can anyone recommend some companies which offer good coverage, but is also affordable?
International Student Health Insurance - Duplicate Coverage? My sister is International Student from Asia. She has Mega Health Insurance offered by her college. During the last year, she got sick. The insurance was effective at that time. However, she got married at the same time, and her name was also listed in her husband's insurance policy. When claims were filed, her insurance declined. Reason was : "The student insurance is secondary (supplemental) insurance, therefore, the first (her husband's) insurance must pay for the claim first. " The doctors and hospital were not under her husband's, but listed under her insurance. Is this true that the secondary insurance doesn't pay, when primary insurance doesn't cover?
F-1 international student Health insurance marijuana / ER related question? Long story short 1. I'm a casual/social marijuana smoker. thus i had smoked in a college party about a week before what happens in #2 2. I had a few projects due and 2 exams in two consecutive days, thus i went with very little sleep and high amount of "test-like anxiety" for a period of 3 days/nights, trying to make sure i make As in all of them (which i did) 3. after the last of the mentioned exams/projects, i went home with extreme fatigue, b4 i could pass out, for the 1st time in my 24 years of life i had an "anxiety attack" - i didn't have any previous such experiences this i though of it as a heart attack and called 911 - went 2 ER. I turned out to be "healthy like a horse" quoted by the doctor. THC was found in my blood and blamed for the incident. 4. I have mandatory health insurance with my F-1 visa, i'm yet to file a claim. 5. would like to know if i file a) my insurance pays anything b) would drug related info on medical records be shared with school &/or government? Notes: 1. I have been smoking ever since i was 18, on non-routine social basis except for first few months 2. Since the incident i have stayed off of weed 3. I'm not sure about how this may or may not violate my visa status, and am seeking info on who this info will be shared with after disclosed to insurance company by hospital upon my claim being filed. i just want to avoid getting my visa revoked and deported-as this was not caused in any way by a week old smoking experience (i smoked a blunt that night of some really potent stuff, so it could have well stayed in my system for that period of time). 4. I did sign a paper in hospital that notified me and confirmed that i know my info will not be shared with any other parties. 5. my claim form has a full disclosure clause that i have to sign which will allow any and all related info to this incident to be shared with insurance company. 6. Insurance coverage is provided by my college thru this company.

World travel insurance for Canadians without provincial health insurance? World travel insurance for Canadians without provincial health insurance I am looking for an international backpacker medical travel insurance provider that doesn't let the fact that my MSP (or similar provincial health insurance) is no longer valid. I have been out of Canada for 3 years and certain insurance providers require a provincial plan from the home country of the traveler to be in effect before providing insurance. I need to find a reasonably priced alternative catering to backpack travel (without the requirment of needing to return home withing a period of time). My MSP is no longer valid. Thx.

Can anybody advise what would be the affordable price for health insurance for someone on F-1 visa in U.S.? I am an international student on F-1 visa currently attending a community college in Florida, U.S and plan to transfer to another college in few months. I am 26 years old with a weight of 135 pounds and height of 5 feet and 8 inches and don't have any pre-existing condition. The link I found http://serveglobe.com/usa/insurance/international-student-quotes-compare.asp gave some plans for a person like me and Study USA Plan B whose terms and conditions is at http://www.serveglobe.com/insurance/affiliate/nriol/brochure/study-usa-insurance.pdf is for 56 per month and for subsequent renewals additional 5$. I hardly ever go to the doctor, but was worried the plan described there mention they will cover only 80% of the first 5000.I am currently insured, but the new college I am moving to does not offer health insurance to international students like me, but requires one to purchase it before getting admitted. Does something less expensive than this plan/less co-pay/deductible exist? AzBlue, Thanks for your reply. Blue Cross Shield of Florida from the link you gave me has a premium of 126 per month with a deductible of 500 per individual and "No deductible for in-network well care, but co-insurance for in-network services " It seems if I visit a in-network provider most likely I will be charged 20% of the cost? mbrcatz17's: Thanks for your answer. I think the premium cost is 56 because for the first 5000, I have to pay 20%. Since you have worked for long in the industry have you ever heard of this company Study USA Plan B and does this http://www.serveglobe.com/insurance/affiliate/nriol/brochure/study-usa-insurance.pdf seem legitimate? Can you please advise? Being new I don't know much. I was told there is also HTH Worldwide which is 86 for standard(100$ deductible and basic medical is covered only 80% till 10K) and 116 for preferred(100$ deductible and after basic medical of 5K, 80% till 245K). Can you please advise if both the companies are valid? Thanks a lot
Best health insurance? I am employed full time, but my company is too small to pay its employees any benefits. So I'm shopping for my own insurance. What I'd like: Insurance that covers all my current doctors, not just giving me a list to pick from. Something that will pay for both living and hospital expenses should a sickness or accident prevent me from working - and will keep paying. Good Dental coverage I'll gladly do a co-pay for doctor's visits. I'm 28 and in excellent health, non smoker - this should give me a good starting point.... Right now, I'm on an international health insurance out of Germany (which is where I'm from) which reimburses me for every medical expense, but I am sick and tired of having to front the money. Any advice? It's tough to just start shopping, so I'd like to get input from people who have insurance. Let me know which company you feel is the best one.
health insurance? Dear friends, I was an international student in the past spring semester and my health insurance is still valid until the end of this summer. Thankfully I have not used my insurance at all and I was wondering if you my friends could give me any smart ideas on how I may be able to get the most out of my health insurance before it expires? I assume there would be no refund to me from the insurance company even if I have not had a single claim on it. I paid almost 500$ for it and that kinda hurts to see it is going to expire soon and you have not benefited from it at all! Hope you understand and thank you very much in advance for your smart ideas and any advice or information you could give, warm regards, Rojin
Anyone ever start or know how health insurance co-ops work? I'm the Treasurer for an international non-profit networking organization, many of whom make their living as self-employed, or would like to be doing so. One of the biggest difficulties is affordable health insurance. Our organization is about 400 members, but there are similar organizations with whom we could partner that might bring that up to 1,000. If we had 75% participation, could we get monthly payments that "real" people can afford? (by this I mean $200-$300 for good coverage with RX, office visits, etc.) Thanks!

He graduated from his English course last week and so his health insurance expired then and there. We're not sure how to appraoch this - $3000 is too much and we're thinking: Is it possible to obtain temporary health insurance for him now to help us pay for his surgery??? Medical insurance for Schengen visa through French Consulate? Has anyone recently applied for a schengen visa through the French consulate in New York City? I am having difficulty obtaining a letter with the specific wording that they need..this is from their website: Health Insurance Certificate (+ 1 copy) : a letter from your Insurance company stating that you will be covered, for at least 37,000 $, during your trip in Europe for any medical expenses, hospitalization and repatriation will be required. (The letter must include, exact wording, these three conditions of coverage.) Where did you get international medical insurance and was the consulate really strict with the letter they need?

Health Insurance? I'm looking for a good Health Insurance company. I only need coverage for myself and I'm in good health. I really need insurance that actually comes through when I need my medical bills paid, not a company who will just pocket my money and charge me outrageous deductibles. I don't care about how much my monthly/yearly fees will be as long as it does that. If they have coverage for international travelers, that would be good too. Thank You. I'm sorry your answer isn't helping me. My last insurance company, which I had to let go, didn't just cover my city/state, it worked in all the place I lived, I travel frequently, New York,California etc.
